December BJP

I was just over at the Bead Journal Project to tell everyone I had my page done. But, I forgot to get it up here! So now it is.

I call this page "Silent Night, White Night". We had very powerful snowstorms, for this area, and the worst weather in about 40 years. Up here, we had 22" of snow with a light glazing of freezing rain and another layer of snow on top. It was white. Very white. One night I took the cat out and the moon was peaking through the clouds. It was beautiful and extremely bright. That gave me the idea for my page. The trees are brickstitch with straight stitch trunks and the moon is a flat wooden bead that I "encased" in silver-lined seed beads.

I wanted to add one of my wisdom teeth to it, but can't seem to find my stash of body parts. As it is, the page tells the story of the end of December for me. But, when I do find those teeth, I will sew one on.

This is very pretty, and it looks like the weather around here. It seems to be a peaceful look at what may not been a peaceful end of the year.

Ah, yes, I remember well bright moonlit nights on snow from all the years I grew up and lived in northern Ohio. You captured the essence of this feeling perfectly!

Beautiful, Z'Anne! Yes, we had snow, frozen rain, snow layered like that too, only not as much. I'm so glad it's gone now, but it was beautiful! Your piece captures that feeling of pristine snow so well. Where will you put the tooth?

Thank you, Marty, Kathy and Robin. Luckily my snow is all gone and the gorge winds have died down. Oregon and Washington are well known for our rain and I wish it would come back. I can do without all that lovely white! :)

Robin, I plan on sewing the tooth to the front of the bail at the top of the page. I guess that means I need to get in and start cleaning out my studio.

But....but....I just got two new bead books. (The Art of the Beaded Bead and Heidi Kummli and Sherry Serafini's, The Art of Bead Embroidery) Now this is something of a conundrum, read about beads or clean? Hmmmmmmm.......

Oh, beautiful! Wish we had so much snow, but I suppose we have enough too. I do love the scenes of snow and trees... Your Silent Night White Night is very peaceful.
I hope your pain is all gone, and I wish your friend well in her chemo treatments, hope she is still feeling well too...

Not sure why you want to add a wisdom tooth but the button is beautiful. I am looking forward to seeing all 12 lined up together at the end of August.
