October Page - Bead Journal Project

Autumn is my favorite time of year and Halloween is my favorite holiday. Here is my page for this month. I made this pumpkin as a sample for a class years ago and when cleaning up, I found it. It sat on my table for about a week before I even considered it for this month's page. Added the moon and cat for the right atmosphere and lots of black beads, of course. The drop beads in the edging represent the colors of autumn and the falling leaves. The spider is there because this is the time of year that they spin and spin those beautiful webs. (I have this HUGE web on the outside of my front window and enjoyed watching the resident spider spin it up.) While beading this page, I remembered the fun times I had during the many Halloweens of my childhood.
Happy October, everyone!

Neat! I've never used black beads, and I like the effect you got. And I never thought of using the drop beads for an edging. Is it ok if I "borrow" that idea? It's so much fun to see what everyone else is doing.

This is so neat! I love your idea of using this shape and size. You really use your size to your advantage, getting alot of detail in such a small piece. You should be very proud! Cant wait to see what you do next month. Tracey

Thank you, Ladies! I had fun beading this little page. I forgot to say that I also stuffed the pumpkin with 1/2 a cotton ball for dimension. I'm glad I chose a small size to start with this year. Can't wait to see what you do for this month.

Mary, you can go ahead and use my ideas any time! As for the black beads....I will put up a picture of my Dreamweaver and you will see how many black beads I've had to use. ;)

I really like your page. It completely depicts Fall and Halloween perfectly for me too. The black beads did make me think of a spider web at night the way the light reflected them, and that everything was caught in the web.

This is a great page and I love the dreamweaver also. October is such a fun month. I love the scary, and always dress to give candy on Holloween. My husband and I sit on the front porch in disguise and just enjoy ourselves. I can tell by your beading you love it too!

I think it's great you were able to include a previously made bead on this page. It really looks Halloweenish and the addition of the drop beads for all of the fall season (along with spiders, ugh!)completed it very well.

Thank you, Ladies, this was a fun month to bead a page.

Kelly - I didn't plan it that way, but the spider web motif does come through, doesn't it? The "groove" must have taken over when I was beading.

Carol - Remind me not to trick or treat at your house! LOL

CC - Sometimes I'm not sure I want to be in some of my dreams, either! LOL
